Warning: check your domain name expiry date (OVH)

By default we buy a domain name for one year.

It is not automatically renew after that.

60 days before the expiry date we receive the first email… until 1 day before the expiry date. And then it become critical. First, nobody can read your blog anymore (not really good on the “client” point of view). Second, there is only 2 weeks left to react.

Ideally we should renew the domain name at the beginning of the year. Who know what will make us busy 2 months before the expiry date. It also could happen that you just don’t see the emails. How could that be? Sometimes the OVH emails are landing in the Junk folder.

It’s a very convenient habit for people having several domain names. Who wants to work on domain name renewal every few weeks. Doing it all at once is justĀ easier.

If we already know that we are gonna keep the domain name for a few years, then let’s renew it for 3 years directly.
